- Why Subaru
Subaru supports various organizations committed to helping those in our communities stay as healthy as possible.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the largest nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a world without blood cancers. Since 1949, they’ve invested nearly $1.3 billion in groundbreaking research, pioneering many of today’s most innovative approaches. LLS works tirelessly to find cures and ensure patients can access the lifesaving treatments they need. When someone experiences the fear and uncertainty of a cancer diagnosis, LLS provides hope, compassion, education and support. And they are making an impact in the cancer community. Many treatments funded by LLS are now helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases. Seventy years of fighting blood cancers has led LLS to a game changing belief: the cures for cancer are in our blood.
Since 2016, we’ve partnered with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) to donated over 148,000 blankets and 21,500 arts & crafts kits and reached nearly 150,000 patients in more than 780 hospitals, with the help of more than 540 Subaru retailers nationwide.
Make-A-Wish®火狐体育官网 creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
When kids with life-threatening medical conditions are granted their one true wish, it renews their energy and strength to keep fighting. Their families and entire communities come together. And lives get better for everyone involved. Through Make-A-Wish, Share the Love has granted the wishes of more than 1,500 children with critical illnesses.
The Alzheimer's Association leads the global research effort to end Alzheimer's disease while providing education and support to the millions who face dementia every day.
Subaru partnered with the Alzheimer’s Association during the 2012 Share the Love Event, and raised $1,123,557 to help advance research, provide care, and support families in communities nationwide.
At Subaru, through our Subaru Loves to Care initiative, we partner with organizations committed to helping those in our communities stay as healthy as possible. Subaru of America proudly serves as a host sponsor of Dining Out For Life®, an annual fundraising event that draws over 300,000 people to 3,000 restaurants in 60 cities in North America.
It's magnificent in its simplicity: Dine at a participating restaurant and that restaurant will donate a generous portion of the day's proceeds to fund HIV/AIDS care, prevention, education, testing, counseling and other essential services in their city. The event is traditionally held on the last Thursday in April, while some markets have alternate dates.

火狐体育官网For over 30 years, the Deep Creek Lake Lion's Club has been giving visually impaired students the chance to experience the fun and empowerment of downhill skiing through the Club's Blind Skier Program. In 2016, Subaru invited the Club to partner with them at their Winterfest event at WISP Resort and it was a great experience. Along with Subaru's generous donation, the club was able to spread the word about our program to hundreds of skiers during the event who came by to visit the various tents. Our club was delighted to partner with Subaru and hope it’s the beginning of a beautiful friendship!
Since 2011, Subaru of America has partnered with Make-A-Wish® to grant wishes for children with critical illnesses. Through our Subaru Share the Love®火狐体育官网 Event, we have granted 2,200 wishes that wish kids and their families will cherish for a lifetime.
火狐体育官网This summer, Make-A-Wish Colorado, Subaru of America, Inc., and Schomp Subaru worked together to grant 18-year-old Ryan’s wish to have his 2008 Subaru Legacy restored and customized. In January 2019, we worked with Make-A-Wish Arizona to grant Autumn’s wish to go to Hawaii. At our national training conference, we brought Autumn and her family on stage for a Q&A about Make-A-Wish Arizona, only to surprise her with a performance by Polynesian dancers and drummers to let Autumn know her wish would come true.
火狐体育官网To celebrate Autumn’s Hawaiian adventure, Subaru of America gifted her and her family with baskets full of special gifts to take on their trip. While in Hawaii, Autumn and her family visited the Pearl Harbor Museum, the Polynesian Cultural Center, and Sea Life Park.
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) exists to find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients. Since its inception in 1949, LLS has invested more than $1 billion in cutting-edge research to advance cures and better therapies. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) and Subaru partnered to spread hope, love, and warmth to cancer patients at the MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper University Health Care in South Jersey. The representatives donated 100 specially made blankets along with messages of hope written by Subaru employees.
火狐体育官网These little tokens of appreciation help these patients understand that we're here for them and we care about what they are going through," said Thomas J. Doll, president and COO of Subaru of America. "It's very difficult for them to go through this type of treatment, so any little bit that we can help provide in way of encouragement [and] a blanket, is great.
The visit was part of the Subaru Loves to Care initiative and the ongoing partnership with LLS to donate over 38,000 blankets, 4,750 arts and crafts kits and encouraging messages to patients across the country.
火狐体育官网Since 1968, the Larc School in Bellmawr, New Jersey, has strived to meet the needs of all students (ages 3-21) and young adults (21 and over) with varying developmental disabilities in a dignified manner by providing opportunities for growth, development, and most importantly - independence. Larc is a private, nonprofit and recognizes that a student’s success soars when a strong connection between family, school, and community exists. That connection, when combined with Larc’s educational, therapeutic, and recreational curriculum, allows each individual to reach their greatest potential.
Thanks to a grant from Subaru of America Foundation, Larc was able to purchase two brand-new wheelchair gliders that allow the students to feel the calming sensation of rocking. It is moments like these – when the Larc team got to see the joy on the faces of students like Tyler as he tried out the brand-new wheelchair glider – that make the school’s work so meaningful.

The Subaru of America Foundation has been instrumental in The Parkesburg POINT's capacity to serve an increased number of at-risk youth this year. The POINT is a firm believer that "every child deserves hope" and greatly appreciates Subaru's partnership in bringing hope to hundreds of kids. This past Friday, we hosted our first "Girls Night Out" for the 2017-2018 school year. The theme of the evening was "You Are Special" and we had 60 girls in attendance, aged 8-18. With the help of staff and volunteers, our students received a healthy snack, participated in games and crafts and heard inspirational messages. Subaru's support makes nights like this possible. Thank you for helping us bring hope to the hopeless and empowering youth to believe they are special.
